This year, our ‘MyBest Self’ campaign to become better versions of ourselves continues, with a
focus on a different mantra each month, to see what we can learn from it.
As March includes
both International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day, the mantra for this month
is all about women:
‘Strong women: may we know them,
may we raise them, may we be them’
We have chosen this
mantra as it is a celebration of women, a message of support, an aspiration,
and a reminder, all in one.
It celebrates all the
strong women we know personally, as well as those we admire from afar. It
encourages us to raise our daughters to be strong and confident. And it
inspires us all to step up and be strong in ourselves, drawing on our inner
resources and courage.
International Women’s Day, on March 8th
each year, is a great cause to rally around.
This year’s theme –
Balance for Better – is making the point that the world will be a much better
place when there is a more even balance between the genders, with women having
the same power, opportunity, security and equality in all things as men. Read
more about the history of the day, and the cause itself, here.
Also this month, of
course, is Mother’s Day.
Whether you are a mum
yourself; your mum is still with you; or your mum has passed away – it’s a
lovely day to reflect on motherhood, and what being a mum is all about.
Our own mums are
often superheroes to us - being the first person we bond with, even before
birth. We learn about much of life from our mums. And as time goes on, and we
see them as fallible human beings as well as our mum – we learn how hard it is
to be a mum.
Whether you celebrate
your own mum, your step mum, or someone who fulfilled that role for you; or you
celebrate friends who are mums; or you celebrate yourself as a mother – spend
some time this month appreciating all that goes into being a mum.
Strength is a key
quality that all mums need, just to get through a day, let alone a whole life!
See this mantra – ‘Strong
women: may we know them, may we raise them, may we be them’ - as a celebration
of women across the world, and the strength that resides in all of us.
Share your thoughts with us on this
month’s mantra, and let us know what it means to you.
Wear this powerful
mantra every day, to remind yourself of your strength; or gift it to someone
you admire. Our ‘Strength’ Necklace is 15% off this month.
