This year sees a sixth year of
our My Best Self campaign, which we
kicked off when we first launched Mantra in 2016.
The idea is to share stories
about how we can all step up and be our best selves. For me, having a mantra –
a memorable set of words – in a given moment can really help to change our
thoughts and our behaviours. That is why I created Mantra Jewellery – to bring
together inspiring words and a tangible reminder, in a beautiful piece of jewellery.
This year, we are sharing stories
and examples from some of you, our lovely customers, about why you chose a
particular mantra.
We hear your stories when we come to events,
and you tell us why you have chosen that specific mantra; when you phone us
up to ask for advice; when you message us on Live Chat, to get our opinion; or when you give us a review on Feefo and you tell us what the gift was for.
Or when you explain the message which you’d like us to write on the card.
We will never identify who you are; or use your
name in a story. We absolutely don’t want to embarrass you, or intrude on your
privacy. But we do want to share your lovely kindness, your belief in a friend,
your love for your daughter, your support for a colleague – to inspire others with your thoughtfulness.
If you’d like to contribute to
our year-long campaign, then please drop us an email with your story, to enquiries@mantrajewellery.co.uk,
with the subject line – ‘Sharing a Story’. We’d love to hear from you – and we
promise to share all stories anonymously.
An Anchor is a symbol of stability, holding a
vessel safe in calm seas or stormy weather.
It is a great symbol to remind you
that you have the power inside you to make yourself feel safe and secure. If
you feel stressed, anxious or overwhelmed, visualise the strength and power of
an anchor holding a ship, keeping it safe and secure.
We wrote the mantra, 'I feel calm, safe and
grounded’, to accompany the Anchor, reminding you of your ability to breathe
slowly and calmly, as you bring a sense of peace and calm to your body.
We have sold many hundreds of Anchors since we
launched the design, as necklace, bracelets, and more recently, earrings – many
bought as a self-purchase to bring calmness, and others as gifts to give
reassurance and support.
Here are just a few examples from your stories
–
Comfort:
the Anchor has been gifted many times to bring comfort and security when the
person can’t be there themselves; or to remind the recipient that they have a
safety net in their family.
Gratitude:
we have seen it gifted in thanks and recognition of the person being your
anchor – the one that holds you steady and strong.
Study: we have seen it used to wish someone well as they embark on a degree, helping
them to stay calm during the tough times.
Positivity:
we have seen it as a celebratory gift to praise and admire someone’s ability to
stay calm and navigate life’s difficulties with a positive attitude.
Reassurance:
we have seen it used many times to reassure a daughter or a close friend, that
they have what it takes to stay safe and calm and happy in life, overcoming any
problems they may face.
Relationships:
we have seen husbands gifting it as a token of love, to recognise their wife’s
role as the anchoring point of the family.
Illness:
we have seen the Anchor gifted to help someone going through treatment, to help
them stay positive and calm in the moment.
Travelling: we have seen it as a bon voyage
gift, to keep someone safe on their travels; and a gift to remind a mum of her
son at sea.
Tough Times: we have seen the Anchor used many
times to reassure someone that the storm will pass – be that job, relationship,
or health problems – and calm waters will come back again.
A Happy Place: we have seen the Anchor used to
represent a ‘happy place’ to escape to in meditation, to give a tangible
reminder of a safe space.
And here are just a few excerpts of the thoughtful messages
you have asked us to write on the accompanying card:
‘Always remember you've got this, no matter what life
throws at you. Take a deep breath and dream of the ocean - your calming and relaxing
place’
'Hold this anchor to keep you going on the rocky days, it
will bring you safe harbour’
‘To keep you grounded and safe on all your travels’
‘Life’s journey may be rough sometimes, but there are
fair winds ahead. The storm will pass. Stay strong and don’t let others’
thoughts and emotions carry you off course. Set off on a new adventure every
day’
‘When you wear your anchor, always remember I'm with you
to help you through any storms. If you feel stressed or anxious, think about
the cuddle I would be giving you’
'You are the anchor for this family’
‘To our beautiful mummy, who holds our family together’
‘Mama will always be there for you to help and support
you through anything you go through’
‘You have kept me grounded this year like my anchor’
‘Storms don't last forever. Look for rainbows!’
‘Know that no matter where we are or whatever happens in life, I will always be by your side. I love you so much, and I'm proud to be your daughter, your anchor’
‘Your strength and courage are admirable. No matter what
life throws at you, you always see the positives and remain calm’
‘When you feel at sea, alone or surrounded by life's
chaos, repeat this mantra until you know you are calm, safe and grounded’
So – choose the Anchor to keep someone calm;
help them to feel safe and secure; celebrate their ability to remain positive
and calm when things are difficult; reassure them that you are there for them;
and remind them to stay ‘calm, safe and grounded’.
