July started and ended with an open air
festival, for me.
Firstly - I was lucky enough to go to my
first Glastonbury, on what was one of the sunniest, loveliest weekends of the
year. It was enormous fun, with a great music line-up, and so many wonderful
people.
It is absolutely true that it is one of the
friendliest festivals, with 175,000 people all co-existing in a spirit of
kindness, patience and tolerance. I loved it!
Much of the month was focused on working with
our newest collaborators, to finalise designs and launch new pieces. Persia Lawson signed off her second necklace with us, a design of interwoven
hearts; and new collaborator Chloe Brotheridge loved the sample piece
for her Chakra design, which launches early September. Keep an eye on our
social media to see them first.
Four brand new designs arrived with us a
couple of weeks ago, ready to launch in late August.
One of my absolute favourites is ‘Be Here
Now’, with the mantra, ‘Where am I? Here. When is it? Now’. One of the key
purposes behind Mantra Jewellery is to encourage us to be more present and in
the moment - and this necklace is designed to help with this. Read more about
this mantra and the story behind it, here.
Another favourite new design is a beautiful floral
disc, bursting with blooming flowers. This lovely piece represents a
self-care mantra, ‘What do I need right now, to flourish?’ Imagine you are
these lovely flowers - what is the equivalent of the water that they need to
flourish - for you? Check back for more details on this very soon...
My
husband and I headed off to Burgundy for 10 days in the middle of July, a part
of France I had never been to. I love the wine from this region, so was really
keen to see the area. It has instantly become a firm favourite, and I will
certainly be back. Pretty stone villages, rolling green hills covered in
vineyards, mediaeval chateaux, and sunny skies, it feels like stepping back in
time to a calmer, stiller, less frenetic world.
My month finished with Wanderlust, the
life-affirming yoga and meditation festival in Battersea Park. We took Mantra
there to showcase the brand, including our Wanderlust collaboration necklace -
and loved meeting many of you in person.
As July closes and August begins, the weather
is glorious, and people are in a happy and light mood. I look forward to
catching up at the end of next month, to see what August brings.
Enjoy! Jo xx
