To have a
mindful Summer, we need to be fully present in what we’re doing, rather than counting
down the days to a holiday, or when the children go back to school.
Here are our 5 tips
for a mindful summer...
1. Dance!
This year my resolution was to see more live music, to be surrounded by so many people who all love the same songs gives me such a buzz. Music fills the area during the summer, whether it’s at a festival, in a beer garden
or at a BBQ. Take the time to really listen
to it, get lost in the moment and dance with friends and family and feel the
endorphins lift your mood.
2. Create a Summer reading list
I struggle to make time for reading, so making a reading list will help make it a priority. Choose the book/books you want to read this
summer then let them carry you away to far off places. Take time out of your
day to sit quietly and just focus on the words you’re reading to really understand their meaning
and emotions.
3. Go for a daily walk
With warmer weather and lighter evenings there is
more opportunity to get outside. During the pandemic I really learnt the importance of disconnecting and getting outside, for even just a short while. It is so normal for us to spend our days staring
at different screens, so make time for even a short walk each day and shift the balance away from the digital world to the natural world.
4. Visit a flower field
Personally, one of my favourite things to do in the
summer is visit a flower field. There are so many around the UK with different varieties
to see. It is impossible not to feel your mood lift when surrounded by rows and
rows of beautiful colours. When visiting, take the time to look at the details within the blooms and
really appreciate what is in front of you.
5. Wear your Mantra jewellery
Our jewellery is designed to make a positive impact on the way that
you feel as each piece symbolises a specific mantra. Have a few mindful moments
throughout the day, by holding onto your piece of jewellery and bring its
message to mind.
Remember to get the
most out of this season and live in the moment - have an amazing Summer!
