From January to April we were on fire (if I do say so myself) with Jo training for the marathon we were all full of the energy of the New Year and our team spirit to be healthy and happy was at an all-time high. Then the marathon finished, some early summer holidays happened, our work and private lives got busy… and we lost our dedication.
The fact is, actually nothing physically had changed (even though we liked to think so) there’s always an excuse, and when stress from a busy life creeps in, stupidly exercise seemed to be the first thing to go. But NOT ANYMORE! We have given ourselves a serious talking to and are back to being committed to a healthier lifestyle.
Here are our mantras to get you off the sofa and back in the gym!
1. Be the best version of you
2. Think of your workouts as important meetings you’ve scheduled with yourself. Bosses don’t cancel
3. I’m going to make you so proud – note to self
4. Stay Strong
5. If it doesn’t challenge you it doesn’t change you
6. It hurts now, but one day it will be your warm up
7. Today I will love myself enough to exercise
8. Tomorrow you will wish you started today
9. Worry less, run more
10. Do more of what makes you happy
11. I’m doing this for me
12. Make progress not excuses
13. Don’t expect to see change if you don’t make one
14. No matter how slow you go, you’re still lapping everyone on the couch
15. Fall in love with the process and the results will come
16. Today I’m fit, fast and fierce
17. Workout because you love your body, not because you hate it
18. Hard work brings sweet rewards
19. Remember that any exercise is better than no exercise
20. You won’t always be motivated, but you can always be disciplined
21. You have a choice. You can throw in the towel or you can use it to wipe the sweat off your face
22. When life pulls you back, aim forward
23. Sorry I can’t, I have to go to the gym
24. I don’t find the time to exercise, I make the time to exercise
25. Set some goals then demolish them
26. I will. Just watch me
We’d love to hear your favourite motivational mantras…
